Race for Research 2019

The Cancer League of Colorado Race for Research 5K in memory of Michele Plachy-Rubin will be held on Sunday, August 18, 2019 at 9 a.m. in Washington Park, Denver, Colorado.  This family-friendly fun run and walk features a timed 5K with post-race Expo that includes a free pancake breakfast, a free beer garden sponsored by Bristol Brewing Company, a Kid Zone play area, live music with the band Look Both Ways, and sponsor booths with give-aways.

The 5K is kicked off with the Kaylene’s Kids Fun Run sponsored by You Move Me.  Kid’s under 12 are invited to run a short route with a professional sports mascot cheering them on. Along the route, runners pass by the Morton’s Publishing Miracle Mile, where participants who raise at least $150 in donations can honor a loved one touched by cancer with a custom-designed poster. Prizes are awarded to race winners in various age categories, to teams with the most members, and to individuals and teams who raise the most money for Cancer League.

Want to be a sponsor? The Race offers underwriting sponsorships at the $1,000, $2,500, $3,500, $5,000, and $7,500 levels, or at an amount that can be customized to your company’s needs. Expo booth spaces are $250. Want to be a volunteer? The Race is looking for volunteers to serve on its planning committee, as well as on race day.
